WHO WE ARE
Stay, Explore, and Experience the Outback
Fifth generation farmer with country in his blood, true local Dan was raised and learned the ropes of farming on the family property, Camden Park Station outside of Longreach. A mere 18,000 acres.
After diligently managing Camden Park for 12 years, a severe drought necessitated the de-stocking of the property. Ever the visionary, Dan saw an opportunity to capitalise on the station’s rich history and breathtaking scenery. Camden Park Station, a place graced by the Queen and Prince Philip in 1970, was also the residence of Dan's esteemed grandfather, Sir James Walker, knighted in 1972 for his outstanding service to the Longreach community.
In 2019, Dan and his brother transformed the station, opening its gates to visitors eager to experience the authentic outback Queensland experience.
Now, Dan and his wife, Brooke Walker, have taken their Agritourism venture to new heights. They offer accommodation for school groups, short-term visitors, workers, independent travellers, and host events on the historic grounds of Longreach Station, formerly known as the Longreach Pastoral College.
Outback Dan is more than just a grazier; he is a trailblazer, an innovator, and a quintessential outback character.
The Walker family is thrilled to extend their hospitality, inviting guests from across Australia to enjoy the new accommodation experience in their picturesque backyard.
All are welcome—young and old alike—to share in the beauty and heritage of their beloved land.
